I noticed my Bartlett pears sitting on the counter looking a little… tired. They were seconds away from going bad, so instead of tossing them, I turned them into the coziest, maple-butter roasted pears. It took maybe five minutes to prep, and the whole house smelled like fall!
I sliced the pears in half, mixed a little melted butter and maple syrup, and let the oven do the rest. They came out soft and caramelized with golden edges. Totally the kind of dessert that looks fancy but is so simple and comforting.
If you have ripe pears hanging around, this is the easiest little treat to make. It’s perfect on its own, but even better with a scoop of ice cream or a sprinkle of granola.
Recipe below if you want to try it.
🍐 Maple-Butter Roasted Pears
The easiest cozy dessert (ready in 15 minutes)
Ingredients
6–7 ripe Bartlett pears
3 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Optional toppings:
• Whipped cream
• Vanilla yogurt
• Ice cream
• Granola
• Chopped nuts
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
Slice pears in half and scoop out the cores. Leave the skin on.
Arrange pears cut-side up in a baking dish.
In a small measuring cup, stir together melted butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt.
Pour the mixture over the pears, letting it settle into the centers.
Bake for 15 minutes, until soft with caramelized edges.
Serve warm with a spoonful of yogurt, granola, or a drizzle of extra maple syrup.
Let them cool slightly, then enjoy warm.
Simple, cozy, and shockingly delicious… all while saving fruit that was this close to becoming compost!
